Hardiest (NOT expendable) Fish for a Fish-in Cycling?...and foods...and art!

Look guys...in an active Forum, active discussions take place and I know this to be true.
The only potential issues are that
  • Valuable info is lost, because it ends up being buried in a thread whose title doesn't help.
  • Anyone thinking of responding to the title joins the conversation and finds that it has nothing to do with the title and is dominanted by a few members who are, essentially, having a good chinwag amongst themselves.

Thanks you :)
However I'm still surprised : it's supposed to be a high quality fish food but it is made with "Worm meal, herring meal, cereals, fish hydrolysate, yeast, potato, minerals, algae, lecithin, antioxidants and colourants." I'd expected whole worm and whole herring....

Yes, I spotted this too. Not everyone worries about these additives as much as others of us do; I personally would not use foods with "meals" and cereals that much, compared to the Omega One and Bug Bites for example. But I do use one earthworm-based sinking tablet that has these, so once a week is not as bad as every day. Perhaps like humans eating junk food--once in a while is fine, but a steady diet? No.

If he still recommends it though, I imagine it's still one of the better ones on the market available in Europe/UK?

Well, I guess not then. Disappointed he recommended it then if it's basically junk food...
Well, "meal" makes me doubt :/
Brands that use "whole" ingredients state it loud and clear...

Are there any that you personally like the look of that are available in the UK/Europe? Like the ones you linked earlier?

Dang, I was excited thinking I'd found an expert-suggested food that would be good for my fish, not "junk food". I'd much rather find something with whole foods then. I ordered that worm one, and now don't want to feed it. :/ Will go see if I still have time to cancel the order.

Back to the drawing board *sigh*.

I'm prepared to spend on essentials like food - and to put effort into raising live foods to give my fish the best health possible. But those Omega One veggie rounds are SO expensive, and I'm far from rich and have a lot of cories to feed. Surely it can't be the only decent cory food available in the UK?!

@Essjay , hope you don't mind a tag, but would you mind sharing what fish foods/brands you use or like please? Anyone else have other recommendations?

Assuming we are still dealing with Corydoras food/diet...the basic FishScience is fine, and the Bug Bites, and to this I would add a shrimp pellet food and go with Omega One which is frankly high quality. Fed once a week, you are not going to break the bank on this if it is more expensive.

You can then use frozen daphnia as a treat, and even frozen bloodworms provided only once a week.

[Obviously I'm thinking non-live foods.]

I know Fluval. It is a good brand using mostly natural ingredients.
I'm currently making a "comparative table" on high quality fish food, but there are so many brands....
Which ones have your preference ?
Please please share your spreadsheet/brand comparison when it's completed! I'd be very interested in the results :)

Nah !!

@AdoraBelle Dearheart I use Omega one flakes, NLS sinking pellets, Northfin kelp 'wafers' (which look more like tablets than wafers) and Northfin Bug-Pro. I normally have frozen 'live' food in the freezer but with lockdowns etc I haven't bought any more after I ran out.

Edit - forgot about the shrimps - they have Hikari shrimp food, but I'm looking for a better one next time I need to buy.

Isn't it obvious ?? Add a bookmark on any #post to save it ;)
Aaaah...then it doesn't answer my point, which was all the non-title info would be lost to other forum members, because it bears to connection to the title of the thread. I don't want to bookmark it.
Fortunately, the Search function works well enough.

Ah so you need to refine topic's title then go to :
• account > your centent
• account > news feed
• account details > your profile > find.

Hikari is :S If you can, try Dennerle© ShrimpKing range and the YummyGum
All the sites comparing shrimp food seem to compare products from the US. But Dennerle products did figure in some reviews so I've been browsing their product catalogue. They make so many different products! Do you have any suggestions for a staple diet for Neocaridina davidii?

All of this I know and you are missing the point.
Any casual visitor to the Forum would scan the thread titles for things that may interest. Scanning the title of my thread, they wouldn't know that it contain all of that info NOT pertaining to what I was asking. Therefore, that content is 'lost'.
If they wanted to know about Cory feeding habits, they might, just might, have the awareness to use the Search facility, but I suspect most don't even know it exists.
