Really taken with the Sawbwa resplendens/rummynose rasbora - are they actually a rasbora or a barb?
Seems like the ratio needs to be really female heavy though, SF says 4:1 or more female to male, and the females don't have that beautiful blue Maybe that's why you weren't as impressed with them as you'd hoped,@Ch4rlie? Can you remember roughly what ratio you had, and how it was to keep them? I feel like there must be a downside, or they'd be as popular as cherry barbs or ember tetra, and the female to male ratio and colour difference might be the thing?
Also, would I be keeping them with something like the CPD/rosy loach, or would that be too overstocked?
Sawsbwas or as I call the false rummies, are actually barbs.
I think I had 8 of those in my tank, 2 males and 6 females I think, been a while but certainly had more females than males that’s for sure.
Maybe that’s why I did not like them much as the females are more drab then the males, just did not do it for me, maybe it’s because I really wanted Rummynoses Tetras so chose sort of second choice due to water hardness.
But they’re a still a very nice fish, no doubt about that at all, just did not do it completely for me.
But I’d go with your choices of CPDs or Emeralds with Rosy Loaches will be the real stars of that tank compared to the Sawsbas imho.
