I read that when bettas are content they'll hold their fins out but not taut. I've been keeping an eye on my betta Hank and I've noticed that he's been doing that a lot lately. He'll rest either on a plant or in the middle of his swimming to peacefully hold out his fins for a little bit. I thought he was flaring at first but when I realized he didn't look distressed while he did it, it made me happy! He's such a good fish

He sounds good :) you know hes super happy when he builds you a bubble nest!

I think he may want to build a nest by his filter and heater at some point, but at the moment he doesn't have any good spots for it. When I renovate my tank I plan on giving him plenty of surface breaks for him!

You took the words right out of my mouth! A couple of mine always have such big bubble nest that I can’t drop their food through the hole! Lol! I feel bad that they do all of that work with no lady around for them. Lol!

Maybe one of these days you can give a go at breeding them ;)

Awww, I agree with juice if breeding ever sounds like something you want to do I'm sure your males would be raring to go!
