So, me and my mum share a common issue: very dry and cracked hands. She has splits due to dryness, and my knuckles are dry and scaly to the point where they're bleeding at times.

Does anyone have any suggestions for us both? Heavy duty stuff would be nice, but anything you think might work is helpful. Please help, my knuckles are literally streaming blood while I type this lol.

This healed my cracked skin better than any product I have bought.
Use natural soaps like Simple or Sanex.

My younger sister has always had very dry hands too. We tried every hand lotion and hand cream we could find and nothing helped! They would get dry and she would cry when they started hurting. My grandma recommended this lotion stuff from Rodan+Fields, I think it is called Active Hydration Replenish or something. It has been the only thing that helped! It is expensive though. I think it was like $70 plus shipping, but it has lasted over a year. My sister mostly uses it in the winter, because that’s when her hands are worst, but once she got her hands feeling better it took a lot longer for them to get dried out again.

I use this stuff called Bloody Knuckles, it is a sheabutter based hand lotion, gentle on cuts and scrapes. Bag balm is also easy on the hands.

Extra virgin olive oil.
After you wash your hands, and while they are still wet, put a small amount of olive oil on your hands and rub it in. Then use a paper towel to wipe the excess off your skin.
*NB* Don't touch your eyes if you have it on your skin because it irritates them.

Try not to get olive oil in the fish tank.

If you are using an alcohol based hand sanitizer, that will dry out your skin.

Perfumed soaps dry out skin more than non perfumed soaps.

Some soaps will dry out the skin more than other soaps so try different brands and see if it helps.

Use rubber gloves when washing dishes or handling chemicals.

Get a doctor or dermatologist to do a skin allergy test and see if you are reacting to something.

Not sure if they supply this in the UK, but I use this stuff called "Working Hands", made by O'Keeff's. This stuff works wonders for dry, cracked skin.

After I put that stuff on, I use Gold Bond Intensive Therapy lotion. Not only does this stuff smell great, but it really keeps your hand moist.

.
We tried that! It definitely helped my sister’s hands more than the other products we tried! Was definitely cheaper too, than some of the other options

I use Vaseline Intensive Care advanced lotion, the fragrance free version.
And Simple soap (blocks and liquid) for washing my hands, except when it's necessary (handling raw meat, cat littler etc) I use an anti-bac soap but not the Simple one as they add mint to that and I can't stand the smell on my hands.

Edit to add - I forgot about Norwegian Formula. A pharmacist recommended this years ago but I found it a bit too sticky.

The Body Shop do a Hemp based hand cream - that came highly recommended at some point - 1000s of good reviews (4.8/5).
