Hamsters From The Past.

I was just going through my folders on photobucket looking sadly at my photos.

Until about a year ago, i used to keep and breed syrian hamsters, i didnt specialise in any particular colour but towards the end i was focusing more on the 'Yellow' genetics which included Tortoiseshells and the rarer Smoke Pearls. At one point I had well over 40 odd syrians, all but the tiny babies needing a cage each and thats not to mention the mice and several species of rats, the rabbit and guinea pigs and my reptiles!

I actually managed to catch some great (i think!) shots of some of the syrians, they have great expressions sometimes!

Think the first name i was forgetting was Drambuii (sp).

And now for my precious precious baby who was my first ever hamster... Hamlet.

Hamlet was my baby, i got her when i was 16 and she lived to be 1.5, she got cushings disease but i had her at a rough time in any teenagers life but when i was particularly unhappy. She would sit in a nest i made in a little tissue box on my desk when i was online and then again in the box on my bed at night and once i put her to bed, she didnt come out (it had no lid!) she got me through the worst year and a bit of my life, if i cried she would lick at the tears on my face, if i didnt take her to my bed with me, she would sit at the top of her cage squeaking until i got her out, i even took her to school with me in my bag (though god knows id have been killed if anyone found out!) i loved her more than anyone else in the world and 5 years later, i miss her more than ever.

AWWWW they are soo cute =) I have a girl syrian. Her name is Lily. She was origonally named teddy. I thought she was a boy until she recently went into heat for the first time. Stupid petstore told me she was a boy! But I don't care, she is a very sweet hamster and she would make a great mom. My mother won't let me breed her though, she hates hamsters =( Your hamsters are adorable

My hamster just died, very young. Couldn't seem to overcome his illness. Such a lovely little fellow, he became friends with my girlfriends dog (yorkshire terrier/chihuahua). All these hamsters are very cute though
