Halloween rocks!
Was in Drogheda for Oiche Samhain, as Halloween is known in gaelic, and local artist Seamus Moore was up at Millmount, a hill fort above the town where Drogheda made its last stand against Cromwell (one of the streets in Drogheda is still called Scarlet Street after the road ran red with the blood of the men and women who survived the seige but faced brutal revenge).
Well anyway, he had laid out the constellations of Orion and Leo on the mound using metalic plates and candles, and as a special treat allowed us up into the tower to get photos of the fireworks over the town.
First, the constellations Orion and Leo, as marked out on the mound:
The new bridge over the river Boyne, with Drogheda in the background and some fireworks just visible:
A shaky handheld photo of the fireworks:
The town:
BOOM!!
