Hairy Algae

i love hair algae, no mater what i do, i cant grow the stuff, you got any you would sell?

I followed the bottles instructions of fluorish excel and it killed ALL my hair algae in 1 day. The bottle says after a big water change (40%+) put in 4x the recommended amount. So i did a 50% water change, put in 4 capfuls of the 2 liter bottle in a 75 gallon planted tank, next day all algae was gone, all fish were perfectly fine, hair algae never came back. But i also did other things like balance the nutrition (i didnt take any out, i just added more of the other stuff), clean filter etc.

I got some flourish excel today, I read that overdosing can kill algae but the bottle has a big warning not to overdose. I followed the instructions per first use, is this OK or overdosing>? I am concerned that overdosing might kill my java moss as I hear it can kill mosses when you overdose.

no, i wouldnt overdose... yet. Do a large water change, then follow the instructions. It worked for me. All my java moss survived.

I made the mistake of Taking my java fern out of the water for 20 minutes as I cleaned my tank. And part of the leaves got dry (very dry). And After I put them in the water, they turned brown.

thanks peeps for info as for clean up read my sig i have alot of them in the tank but dont seem to touch the hairy agae il go and buy some of the flourish exel tomoz or when ever i get chance
