Last week i rehomed my shrimp Cherry shrimp community into a 30 gal(US) tank. My Java moss is growing alge at an alraming rate. There is about a 1 gal bucket wort of moss spread out in various places, a freshly planted patch of Riccia, a 4 inch patch of Tiawan moss, and two Dwarf Lillys that are just starting to take off(3 inches). I am using a 55watt PC and Nutrafin CO2 kit. Whatt can i do to combat the Hair algae?

Reading as of right now:

Nitrate-10
Nitrite-0
GH-150
KH-180
PH-7.4

Do you have any photos of the algae?

What level of CO2 are you getting and is it stable?

What type of lights (spectrum) and lighting period are you using?

What nutrients are you dosing?

Cheers

No pics but i'm certain it's hair/thread algae.

According to those numbers i have little over 12ppm of CO2.

6700k Lights on about 12 hours a day 6am to 6pm(my work hours).

Not dosing any Nutrients right now, i'm a little weary because of the shrimp.

I know my CO2 is too low and as soon as i can pick up a gang valve i will add my second Nutrafin setup using the one diffuser.

get some algae eaters such as otos sae or shrimps
drop lighting t o just under 2wpg
and have about 6-8 hours lighitng a day
