Im having a hard time with my hair algae.. Its growing only on my Java Moss .. i have a few clumps of moss all over the tank and the hair algae sticks to it.. on the java moss.. none on crypts or anubias or anything.. not even on driftwood.. was wondering if theres something going on in the tank..

I adding Seachem floursh and flourish excel twice a week.

my parameters are..

160watt lighting 2xaqau-glo, 2xdaylighters
fluval 404
2-3 dozen plants..
co2 injected. 1 bubble a second (still learning how to use it) great plant growth..

ph 6.8-6.9
kh 5
gh 6
temp 77F
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate below 5ppm.. (hard for me to get up)
iron .25ppm

Thanks!!

oh.. that is the good iron the Iron (FE) and the regular iron i have none of in the tank maybe .1 at most... My test kit say i should have .25-.5 Iron (fe) in my tank..

Hair algae

Hair algae: Long green strands. Easy to pull off by hand. I've seen strands of this stuff over 4 inches long.
Primarily a problem when there is excess iron in the water. High iron normally results from excess fertilization, but some water supplies have high iron levels (especially well water). When I was over-dosing my 29g tank with Seachem Flourish, I got lots of this stuff. Reducing dosage of iron containing fertilizers completely eliminated the problem.

I've seen my Tiger Barbs, SAEs, and Algae-Eating Shrimp all nibble at this stuff.

will do.. will do water change and stop my seachem floursh and excel once a week..
