Hi all

I have a well planted tank (see attached), and in the past week of so, started to see what looks like an algae on a few of my plants. I've circled one of the pictures white so you can see. This is a new thing, and wondered what it was, and what I can do about it. Is it hair algae?

The tank is six months old now, and aside this, has taken off well i think with an abundance of green! Weekly water changes of circa 30-50% each time, fish and shrimp, 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 15 Nitrate. 24 degrees, soft water, ph 6.8. No Co2 injection, just liquid ferts.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

J

I have sprayed hydrogen peroxide on anubias with BB hair algae with good results. I was able to remove the plants, treat them and put them back in. There is a way to do it while still in the tank if you look online. You should also look at how much light and nutrients you have, reducing the time you have your lights on and how much to feed your fish or plants can help.
