Hair Algae?

Course. You can tie some off in a women's nylon and put it anywhere that gets some decent flow

really? ok awesome, so its just called rowaphos, or is there another name for it? then just stick it near some water flow in my refugium and im good to go? sounds like a plan to me :good: thx

Yeah, its coming down QUICK in price though. That same quantity used to be $50 a year ago, I guess more distributors are starting to carry it

ok ill look at my LFS today, if they dont have it ill keep lookin around, otherwise ill just order it online. anything to bring down phosphates is a plan to me. now i noticed on the link, it said it would lower 1ppm in a 120 gl, since i only have a 37, will it lower more than that. i just dont a sudden drop, if it was to affect my tank.

Well actually chances are that you have nearly undetectable phosphates in your water column itself since the hair algae is probably gobbling it up almoast as fast as it becomes available. Over time however the rowaphos will bind up what phosphate it can get its hands on and essentially remove it from availability to hair algae. The hair will slowly die, deccay, release more phosphate, which is then bound up by the rowaphos. This process takes a month or two so be prepared :good:
