Hair Algae Growing In Java Moss

Update time!!

I reduced the photoperiod to about five hours a day while I went out of town for a little over a week. I came back yesterday and the hair algae seems to be almost gone. In fact, the Java moss had taken off and doubled in size. The floating plants doubled as well. I think that the more frequent water changes have benefited the tank too, but I'm not going to be able to do water changes until it gets a little warmer. I don't have enough hot water to fulfill my daily needs and do water changes (poorly insulated pipes and a sucktastic water heater), so I'm hoping that they can just hang on until I move at the end of the month.

hey thats good news,
I was actually going to update also today as I came back after a week away, I left the lights off and the BBA is gone off one plant and hasnt regrown or spread anywhere else, I think that Im going to leave the lights o at the lightest time of the day for 4 hours and then off for the rest.
