Can you post a picture of them both, be easier to tell then.

Not all Bristlenoses have bristles for a long time, some don't at all.

neither have bristles... theyre about 3 inches long

First one is certainly a bristleose, second I'm not sure. Took my bristlenoses about a year before I saw any, and even now they are still pimples! Don't worry about slow growth! Look healthy regardless!

Can you get a better side on picture of the second one? As has been said, first is a definite bristlenose but second I'm not so sure about...

Im sure the second one is a sailfin pleco. They grow huge. It looks like one i had a few years ago.

Not dark enough for a Sailfin Pleco :/

I have tried to get better pictures, but the darn thing is camera shy

Hmm... Tempt him out with a wafer? Or bloodworm?

Is it actually a grey colour or is it just the pictures?
Looks like a very pale Pterygoplichthys Multiradiatus or now I've seen it properly a very, very pale Pterygoplichthys Gibbiceps.
Both are species of Sailfin Pleco which I know someone above mentioned and the patterning matches but the colour is very off :/
