Had A Peek Through Old Pics..

When they came round and explained that she had scratched him, i explained what had happened. My mum was expecting a warning but they taken straight off us.... I sat and cried for days and i stopped eating till i went down to a very unhealthy 5 stone in weight.

Well it's certainly not your fault. Lets just hope they both went to good homes and aren't now sat in kennels somewhere.

How long ago was it?

Well i was 5 when we got her so prob about 4-5 years ago.

So you were 6/7 and walking the dogs on your own? Hmm...

Oh well. Horrible things happen, can't let it get you down now! :)

I only took them once a week. My mum took them rest of the time and when i took them they went on the back field but when my mum took them she took them on a proper walk. Sometimes i went with her, sometimes a friend came round and looked after me if i didn't want to go with her.

Indeed, I lost sight of that - It is strange that snakes elicite so much fear, why is that I wonder?

Your guess is as good as mine but it's likely to be at least a few of the following...
Hollywood
Some are venemous
They're slithery (some people don't like slithery)
They're not furry
They're not as interactive/trainable as dogs n cats
Fear is often a learned emotion. We do have some inbuilt natural responses, but things like a fear of snakes/spiders is pretty much learned not instinctive (unless they're bright/venemously coloured). Fact of the day: It often from parents

:p I blame it on the parents!!

Interesting piece:

I did say it was from the parents  I spent alot of time watching/reading animal and psychology related things as a child. I was on track to become a vet till I changed my mind at the last second. lol. I figured learning as much as I can about animals, and animal-people relationships was a good way forwards.

And yes... sorry alessa

Even venomous snakes don't scare me. There's a little rhyme because the coral snake from south Carolina and the milk snake from.... No idea, look identical at first but if you look carefully there is a difference. The coral snake is highly venomous and it's colour pattern goes red, yellow, black. The milk snake isn't venomous at all and it's colour pattern goes red, black, yellow. I'll find pics on google.

Got some!
Highly venomous coral snake.

non-venomous milk snake AKA Scarlet king snake.

The rhym is "Red on yellow, killer fellow. Red on black, venom lack"

The scarlet king snake has taken the colour and behaviour of the coral snake to keep it alive. Most predators see it and think "that's poisonous i'll leave it alone!

lol sorry. It's easy to mistake them for each other from a standing distance but if you ever see one just look at little closer and you'll easily notice.
