Got myself a bargain vacation on our local e-bay (South Africa) for as little as (approximately) $80 for 4 night and 4 persons….. I invited my son and his fam to make up the 4-some for this (anticipated) bargain….. This is what we got:

The Cottage:

well it looks like a bargain to me :) whats that in sterling, about £40 for 4 people for 4 nights out in the wilderness, fantastic. maybe you should try Rhyl in north wales. now that would have me complaining.
btw i have visited SA and loved it

Well…. This is the road up to the cottage and on our very first morning, I had to be pulled out by tractor…..

What is wrong with it? To be honest, I'd love a holiday like that no tv (I'm assuming) no internet (I'm assuming) it would be great!

We're heading to Donegal this weekend and I love it. No mobile reception, internet and fishing at the local lake. Nothing but cows and mountains. Fresh water from the well too. Even our kids love getting away from all the hustle and bustle too.

I'd say you got a fantastic deal.

Which area were you in??.... we have 4 seasons in a day, depending on where you are??

Well… we were told that there are 3 biggish dams on the premises where we could do some Bass, Tilapia and Carp fishing…. (This one, was the biggest dam of the 3)

This is a view we had from the dam:

We also saw this cactus growing on top of a rock:

And the only way we could keep the females entertained……

LOL, cottage with luxury garage is a bit of a stretch, but somewhere like that in the middle of nowhere would be lovely for a few days.

Doing that for a hol next year in a friends' cottage (that is actually a barn conversion that's bigger than our house LOL).

stayed with relatives in Pinetown, Durban, but our big adventure was driving up to Hluhluwe by ourselves and going on safari for a couple of days. got to say it was always an ambition of mine to get to SA couldn't believe it when my now 2nd wife told me about her relatives out there anyway i wasn't diasappointed at all, loved every second of our stay, sad thing is they have repatriated back to UK now
