My Fiance has Guppies he recently purchased a few new pairs and we got the first drop of fry and all the tails were normal....
but recently there was another drop of fry and we noticed that the tails in some of them are very pointed.....
any ideas on whether its a different tail type or endlerX?
The pic isnt the best of the pointed tails but this is one of the slight pointed ones:s

Pretty sure that is a sign of poor genetic or general health actually. I've occaisionally had guppy fry that had tails like that, they usually didn't survive long. Could also be that it is crossed with a feeder, never know. Doesn't look like an Endler cross to me though.

Ok, maybe feeder cross certainly nothing wrong with the tank....
they all seem hapy enough no signs of illness.... there has been some strange tail types from the female these guys came from....
we did have a Lyretail that appeared in the past out of one of the batches from the female...
but sadly he got nibbled by tetra's.

:S Will keep trying to get pics as they get bigger... then see how they turn out:s

I agree with Alistriwen about the tail, left untreated the guppy frys tail will turn into a sharp point and the guppy fry will probably die. Usually finrot is the cause of the frys tail clamping like this, its easy for diseases to take hold in fry tanks since fry foods are generally quite messy to deal with and easily get caught in the substrate, where they then harbor diseases etc.

ok after that pic the frys tail is more a normal shape with a point on the end!
