Hi again, guppy is still looking very healthy and lively except from the tail, which has gotten quite a bit worse. Does this look like fin rot or nipping to you all?
i think fin rot since there is mucus coming out from itHi again, guppy is still looking very healthy and lively except from the tail, which has gotten quite a bit worse. Does this look like fin rot or nipping to you all?View attachment 137587
Thanks, thought so. Will have to quarantine asap, the quarantine tanks are all fully occupied at the moment... not having much luck!i think fin rot since there is mucus coming out from it
How often, and how much water do you change in the main tank?
The most common cause of fin rot is poor water quality.
another reason for fin rot is touching dirty stuff.Yes it's possible this is the issue - general cycling parameters for the water are fine but I usually change 80%/two weeks, which is far from ideal but lately all of my changing buckets have been taken over by sick guppies, due to a particularly nasty parasite. I think I may have gotten into a vicious circle with it.
