Okay, I admit that part of my guppy population management plan was to let Mama guppy have her babies in the open tank and not separate the fry from the rest of the fish. :X I know, I'm pure evil. But I figured Darwin would weed out most of the fry and I could certainly rehome a few fish that might actually survive to near adulthood. But my fry are almost a week old now and NONE of them have gotten eaten as far as I can tell. If anything, I'm seeing more and more in the tank as they get bigger and start swimming around the tank more. What do I do with all these fish?

I keep reading on other posts to take them to LFS - I asked both of the LFS in my area, and they don't take in homeless guppies. So what do you expert fish guys really do with the extra fish? More importantly, how do I stop from getting any more baby fish? Last week I had two sweet little guppies, this week I have 15+... I can probably give away half of them but that still leaves a lot of potential breeders left in the tank.

BTW, I have 15 free guppies for anyone in the ATL area. :shout:

It's a shame you aren't down in Florida I would take a couple since I am trying to breed guppies. Some people give the guppies to people that has bigger fish like oscars.. or other fish that would eat them :\ sometimes it's the only choice.

The only options I've seen on these forums are, giving them to a lfs, finding homes, or giving them to people who have bigger fish.. wait for others opinions first before deciding what to do though, maybe someone else will have an idea!

Yep, I wish I lived in FL too. I'd give you the whole lot.

Does anyone know of a peaceful community fish that will snack on small fry?

Contact a local club, you can easily sell them at an auction if you grow them out a bit; http://www.atlantaaquarium.com/
