Guppy Pests

No babies yet but she does act weird. She scoots alon up and down the corner of the tank and doesn't eat and hides. She hasn't gotten any bigger though

Just an update. My platy gave birth but since i was late at finding, i was only able to find 5 fry and 1 died in the trap over night. awww needless to say the fish looked nice and plumped lol. I hope next month i will be able to catch them fry babies. Mom is doing well so are the fry. I feed them a mixture of crushed down flakes and dried brine shrimp.

welldone hope you catch
more next time it might
if you put some floating
plant in just to give them
a sporting chance :good:

I'm going to suggest that you get some java moss or "guppy grass" as shelter for your fry. I use mostly java moss in livebearer tanks and have more fry than I can easily dispose of. I take several bags of fish to every local club auction and never have any trouble selling some of my surplus but I also never seem to run out of fry or even adults to sell. We are talking about cleaning out many of the adults in my tanks 4 or 5 times each year to supply those auctions.
This is a clump of java moss that I use in a 10 gallon guppy tank to give me an unlimited supply of young adults for my auctions.

Thank you, I will get some next time. I also got rid of the two male guppies ( was siblings) to prevent inbreeding. I got a new orange-red guppy male just one in place. So i have 1 female platy, two female guppies, and 1 male guppy. Also the lfs owner was nice enough to give me a baby black mollie it is so tiny and cute! next time he may give me more ha ha!
