So I bought 6 guppies, 1 spun around and died. The other five are only swimming on the top. One kinda had stuff on the edge of the fins like it was dissolving away.
This is my 10th try with guppies please help. :(
Maybe I should just give up :/

What size tank? Water parameters? Other tank mates? Filtration? Did you quarantine them?

10 gallon, no qt, Betta, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 1-5 nitrite.

The betta could be killing them. But what do you have as far as filtration? What about ph

I just put them in today... 7.2
Also my betta is really timid.
Another dead male.

I'd suggest not putting them in with your betta, 1) bettas don't tend to get along with other fish with colorful flowing fins   2) not quarantining means you are risking making your betta sick.

Your betta is probably showing aggression especially at night, are they dead when you get up in the morning, maybe your guppies were of poor stock, what LFS do you use to buy your fish?

Its probably from the store. Guppies are extremely hardy, until they get sick.  Then they go downhill fast.

Hhhmmm, what is the water parameters? Was the betta the only tank mate? What decor do you have in there?

Well this thread makes no sense... I guess just leave it alone lol

I posted the parameters up there^.
Betta was only tank mate.
Wood and moss and plants.
Same thing with Tetras they go in the tank swim up to the top and they die. Only thing that isn't effected is the betta, maybe it is a disease?

It sounds like ammonia poisoning to me, and the betta is the only one who can get enough oxygen to survive. Do you use test stripes or drip chemicals? It could be even your test kit is getting wrong readings, it does happen to people.
