Does Guppy Grass grow as a floating plant or does it have to be rooted?

No thats a different plant. Najas guadalupensis is Guppy Grass posh name

It doesn't have to be rooted and can grow just fine in my own experience

It does better floating. I grow all mine floating. The plant in my avatar is Guppy Grass.
