my female guppy is giving birth and im all new to this and just woundering whats the rights and wrongs to do. I noticed this morning and placed her straight in the breeding tank, every now and again she gives birth and has been doing so all day, in total i have 3 alive fish and lost count on how many she ate before falling in the bottom. How long will she be doing this for and how many babies do they have, she seems now to be passing all the dead babies. Whats the upkeep on the guppie fry`s? any help would be apreciated.

She shouldn't be having dead fry. How long have you had her and how long has she been pregnant for? Are the fry partially decomposed or are they just rolled up in balls (like eggs).

Keeping guppy fry is very easily. Basically they eat anything and as much of it as you can give them. I use crushed flakes.

no she is eating them straight away - none left now they managed to get out the trap and she and other fish got them

rofl!
my guppies gave birth.
but the fry didnt get up through the divider bits.. but when i was about to put another pregnant guppy in there i noticed one or two were in there. so i took out all the dividers and used the other breeding trrap for it.
lmao
right now i have about 30 guppy fry
and 4 baby plattys
keep fry is very easy.. feed them food, crushed up fish flakes into powder, i use.
xo

the thing i normally do is when she is giving birth is turn the light off and cover the tank so no light gets through, i have found that i get less fry eaten that way, also i use a seperate birthing tank with lots of plants particulaly floating plants to give the fry shelter from mum and theres no other fish to eat them either
