if a lyretail male and female(pure) had fry would the fry be born with lyretails or normal tails that turned into lyretails?
fantail dad has fun with normal store-bought mom, and have fry would the fry be born with fantails or normal that turn into fantails?

your first question i think their born with normal tails and develope later
secon question, genetics is the answer, ok lets say ft is the dominant gene lets call it F and well call store bought mum f look at the table below it shows how it will work.

so all you fry will come out fan tails, however when you breed these and we draw out the table again

f Ff ff

so you will get 1 full bred fantail 2 half fantails and 1 normal store bought fish

i not long done genetics in biology

ohh and im not sure whether fantails really are domminant that was just an example
