Congratulations! My guppies have had some yellow/orange and some grey. I think they can use sperm from different males to fertilize their eggs, so the fry would be different even though they had the same mother. :)

Congratulations! It's not abnormal for them to have different colored fry, in fact, it's quite common. My Platy regularly gives birth to wagtails and rainbow Platies in the same batch, for example. :)

haha ok lol . it is possible though, that when a livebearer dies, and its pregant, that it'll realease the fry at death or hold them in. then u cut it open if it holds them in and get the babies out. kinda gross lmao

Guppy's can store up to 4 amounts of spem in their bodies. this is just incase they run into bad times and cant find a male for some time.
So i think that some of the sperm can get mixed at some point

Like I thought shes been puttin it about lmao :) :) :)

Wicked so i might have some single coloured and rainbow coloured ones yay me!!!

Love them, but they take AGES to grow lol

H

remember you have to euthinise any that have defects or this could cause suffering later. I dont like doing it but its beter for them and you in the long run

I'm guessing you mean stress them? I've never heard of stress deforming them...hmm. Are you sure your's weren't just very inbred, and got deformities from that?
