I find myself slowly venturing back into the livebearers... crazy!

Anyway, my 45 tall still remains empty. I'd like to try a different type of livebearers, and my new store downtown has been getting in...

*drum roollllll*

Endler's Livebearer!

Okay, the fake hybrid-y ones, but these guys were small, has very nice splotchy coloring, and were kept separate. :D

I was wondering, how many of these lil' guys could live happily?
I plan on getting ghost or cherry shrimp for bottom feeders and a nerite snail. :)

And, should I only get males? Really don't want many fries...

What should the tank be like? I have some driftwood & hornwort, and hope to get java ferns.

Could these guys be kept with male guppies? If I only get male Endlers, that is.

Oooo, too many choices... >.<

Hmm....then again, I would love to get Azul out of his 5 gallon. Could a betta be kept w/ endlers?

Considering his shrimp massacre, I'm not too too sure.... XD

Okay, this topic is straying. What could I keep with Azul in the 45? Should he just stay? I find the 5 gallon to be hard to do WCs with my massive siphon.

Would the endlers nip at him? D:

One more question:

If I did keep Azul with the endlers, would I have to get some females to distract the males from flirting with Azul?

Just read your thread just now

For your info anyway, all male endlers is best especially if do not want breeding. And i find male endlers far more colourful than the females.

And shrimps are prefectly fine with endlers but not with bettas more often than not.

As for keeping endlers with betta, would say no as the endler will likely nip at betta's fins. And also the fact bettas require warmer waters while endlers do better at 23 - 24C, same story for shrimps as well btw.

Tank set up can be anything you like, endlers like a little bit of current to swim in as they are active little guys and having some live plants is good also.

Okay, thanks. :)

My plans changed for Azul anyway, no fears!

This guy spent several years in my endlers 45 tall tank. I only allowed pure endlers in that tank so never worried about excessive breeding. When I got near 75 fish I would scoop some out and take them to my fish club auction.

Azul is now in his own ten gallon, and my plans for the forty five has changed, sorry.
