Hey, I am starting to breed my two fancy guppies a male yellow-orange finned with mostly blue body and a female tan with yellow fins. The male is my own type ( my type because i cant seem to find its stain). The male tries to mate with her but she wont let him, but he also thies to mate with my wild color guppies. I am wondering how to breed very colorful guppies with large fins. I know it all depends on genes. can someone give ideas ideas for types of breeding would really help this image is the closest to my male

By saying that she wont let him mate with her do you mean she runs away? If so that is the process of mating.. the male chases her until he proves hes worthy of mating with her. To get the colors you want they say to put the guppies you want to mate together in the tank. If your wild guppies are females your male WILL mate with them as well. If theres male wild guppies they will try to mate with the female your trying to breed with.

So most likly if you dont want your wild guppies mating as well it would be best to put the guppies you do want to mate in a different tank. Best of luck!

She wont let him mate she clamps her fins when he tries. the wild guppies are pregnant by him and i am fine with them having babies in the tank thanks
