Guppy Boy

I'm no expert on guppies - I just think the boys are beautiful
Neither do I try to breed them, but as you all know - only too well - it just happens

This guppy boy was born in the tank and he's even more beautiful than the others. Is he any particular type of guppy? He has a greenish sheen to his body and very big black dots on his tail, which I've never seen before. He doesn't look anything like any of the other males in the tank, so I assume his mother brought the sperm with her (she was a home grown guppy given/sold to the lfs by someone local):

Oh, he's gorgeous!!! I don't know what kind he is, though his tail looks a bit delta-ish. His tail makes me think of a butterfly, is it mosaic maybe? I'm not sure, but someone else here probably knows.

wow! he's gorgeous . i dont recognize a specific type, but of course i don't claim to have seen them all. he's probly a hybrid-genetic lottery type boy, like his parents were both totally diferent strains and he's just a scrambling of them. totally gorgeous though

HI, we have a couple of similiar guppies and our fish shop call them fancy tail guppies. COuld he be one of them?

Thanks Wolf (you're a mine of info on fishy nomenclature ) - I shall call him a red king cobra from now on. Sorry to say I tend to forget the colour names - even when I once knew them

Hi ibb - I suspect that's a general name that the fish shops use when they - like me - don't know what they really are but thanks for the reply
