Oh, it's both. Rams are known as butterfly cichlids and rams...
Hey that could be why I was so confused with the names of these fish!

thanks Cheese Specialist, I love the rams so much!, they are so beautyull and swim very different to the rest of the fishes, they are swimming and suddenly stop and stay put in 1 place like they are frozen or something, such fantastic pair :D
 
it's both , many fish have more than one name . It may depend on the refference source [a book ,magazine or a person] . Ram comes from the name of the the first person to first claim finding it , Ramirez . Dutch , German , blue , gold , butterfly are essentually the same fish . Some are comercially bred for a specific strain , and some are still wild caught . Yours are beautiful SPANAIR . GOOD : LUCK ! B)
