Guess What's In The Box

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I love love love those mudfish! I think they are some of the coolest looking prehistoric fish. They almost look distantly related to bichirs, but I don't know if that's true. I'd have to do some more research. :)

All the bichirs are doing well, stuffing their faces with chopped shrimp. I'm having a hard time telling the difference between the P. palmas buettikoferi and the P. retropinnis, but it should be more apparent when they mature. :p

i see you finally got yourself a delhezi :) and a nice sized one too. love the markings on that guy, you don't see many coming close to that

Yeah, he does have some great markings. That was one reason why I have been holding back buying one for so long... I don't want one that looks like a senegalus. :p

This guy is wild caught, so that's why he's got the nice markings. I particularly like the marking that looks like this: _/\_

lovely looking fish, it's a shame the "guessing" game is over, my next guess was that there is an Emoticon in the box

most wild caught ones are speckled with other markings. yours' really clean!

maybe now you might want to try to get hold of one of these :p

I've had that picture on my computer for ages! I love the pattern.

As far as I know, WC ones are the ones with the clean, distinct stripes and the farm raised ones are the ones with just blotches and hardly any stripes. I've seen a tankful of farm raised ones at a fish distributer and they hardly had any markings at all.
