what ppm is this???

+1 can't see no green.

Check it against your tap water as a control.

ok..i noticed a nasty smell in my lounge today...and went on the hunt for a hidden dirty nappy
Tank 1 looked a bit cloudy...with bits floating around in it. on closer inspection i found the smell was the tank. like rancid flower water.
I tested the water and to my horror it was 0.50ppm.
I imediately done a 80% W/C. Refilled with dechlorinated water (temp matched)
Tested again...and it was still 0.25ppm
did another 30% ish change and refilled again.
this is when i did the test shown in the picture...it def looks green to the naked eye..
I would change again...BUT ive run out of Tapsafe
The smell has gone....and i've noticed lots of them look very pink around the gills..what happened? It was 0 this morning???
I did feed then a cube of brine shrimp which i soaked in tank water and added back to the tank..they soon finished it up....i have a feeling i fed too much???
is one cube too much for 5x platies, 1x Betta and 6x corydoras?

yes it was SBS...even with the Salifert i convince myself its not clear but slightly cloudy?! :/

yes me too SBS. I can do no more till tomorrow, as i have no more Aqua Tapsafe left. :(

There is no assurance that tap water has zero ammonia... so comparing to tap water isn't exactly a sure fire way to determine anything. If you want to compare to something, buy a little distilled water - in the U.S. they sell it by the gallon in the water aisle of the grocery store. It's less than a buck for a gallon... not bad really.

Chances are that you have been overfeeding. I would fast the tank for the next two days, minimum. Get more dechlorinator ASAP!!! The only way to help the fish in this situation is water changes! I suggest you buy Prime if you can, as it is much more concentrated and will last longer than most (if not all) dechlorinator of the same price. It may look like you are getting less for the money, but it is so concentrated that it lasts and lasts!
