i keep reading all these stories about new bettas not eating and being little stinkers when you first get them- i guess i got lucky or something. i just got a new beautiful red betta this past thursday and he was eating right away and even ate bloodworms from my hand. i thought that was pretty cool! he's getting used to his new tankmates though- 3 little panda cories: huey, louie and dewie (they're adorable, and tiny- under an inch). he flared at them and did a little chasing when i introduced them, but seems to be ok with them now.

My Red Beta ate the same day i got him :D

i have another betta (red, white and blue crowntail) who i thought was finnicky at first, but i guess he just didn't like his environment. he's sharing a 5G with some ghost shrimp now and he's a total pig. he doesn't like to share with the shrimp so he tries to eat anything i put in there. i dropped in an algae pellet and he tried to eat that so they couldn't and i even put in some flakes hoping he'd let those sink for the shrimp, but no, he ate all the flakes too- even though he had this look like "what are you making me eat". so greedy!

wow ive never had fish eat out of my hand, i have however have gotten bitten :D

I put three ghost shrimp in with my betta in my 5 gallon. The bastard ate them all the next morning.
