Thats the last time i leave my friend to look after the fish, i leave them with her for 3 days and i come back to find a dead kissing gourmi, a guppy with its tail totally destroyed and there was flake food with a least half left she has managed to empty it. I a fuming as you would be i think

Sorry, sounds like it need a good gravel vac and a water change.

Sorry about that, does your friend keep fish him/herself? If not, you can't really blame them, they tried their best - but I understand how you're feeling.

Thats the best bit she does have fish and i am paying her!!!

Asked my father in law to look after my community tank last year, came back to half a tank of dead fish !!

He said that he wondered why he wasn't seeing many fish coming up for food..... that's cause they were either floating at the back of the tank or dead on the gravel !!!!

What should i do with my guppy i am getting a breeding trap should i put it in there and then what help me please

How much of the tail is destroyed, i would do some salt baths on him, does the tail have any red edging to it.

I would never trust my friends to feed my fish if I went out of town nor would I pay them. You should tell your friend that you aren't paying her because your going to use the money to replace the fish she killed and buy medicine for the guppys tail. Thats what I would do.

In future if your only going for a few days i would just make sure you've done a water change recently and just give them a bigger feed before you go, or not, a fast wouldn't do them any harm

I would not give them a bigger feed before you go; if they don't eat it their water will get fouled straightaway precisely when you can't afford that to happen.

I prefer the method of measuring out portions in a pillbox for the fishkeeper and hiding the rest of the fish.

Unless you'll be gone for more than a week, they can do just fine without being fed. Normal feeding beforehand and a good waterchange. You should be all set.

Sorry to hear about your experience, Joe. That's a drag. I'm sure your friend is mortified. :(

The gourmi was dead for a while her excuse was "i could find the net." Use ya hand woman!!! Oh well these things happen
