this fish store i went to sold me a bad fish. it died 2 hours after i got it. so i call it and they say i need a water sample from my tank. i said it was in there for two minutes. they didnt care. they said that it was my water that killed trhe fish and didnt give me my money back. then i said that i was told to use amo lock to get it gone and they lady siad it ALWAYS gives false readings. so wouldnt that mean i should get my money backl because of the false reading
then they say "oh u have to buy all this stuff to clean the tank" which i didnt mind because it was all cheaper then petsmart. but the thing that gets me is that she said use salt in it. i said that my cat fish cant have the salt from what i read. she then said" my husband has a tank., 400 gallons, with HUGE fish and we use salt alot.''

Um, so true. I don't shop in any lfs that has signs that read, " All sales are final." Once I see that I will look around, but they aint getting my bussines.

Mine gives me my money back even if I do have bad water (which I used to as a newbie).

The water would not have effected your fish in that short a time IMO

I severely doubt that any fish could get sick in 2 mins unless water conditions were purely atrocious. lfs' do dumb stuff sometimes. i really hate it when the lfs hurts the fish during netting and then won't take the fish back, adding insult to injury!

and NOBODY needs Amo-lock IMO. It's just a lazy man's water change and can mess too much with water chemistry. My theory is: the more natural, the better.

I had something similar happen to me. I went to return a fish that died on me this past monday. They said ok bring in a water sample and we will tell you what went wrong. I told them I knew what it was .....then I was passed from employee to employee until I was with this guy that I swear has a problem with women. He started quizzing me about everything and not listening to my responses, and tried to blame me for the death of the fish in any way he could. I know it was their fault (the fish has gill parasites) I don't feed live foods and I realize now that she was sick from the beginning. Also recently a batch of their bettas all dropped dead (same week) coincidence I think not. Anyway the difference is they couldn't test my water because it had bettamax in it. So they gave me a new fish (she had parasites too!!! i fixed her up immediately). So needless to say I an looking for a new store because I didn't deserve to be treated that way and neither did you and I suggest you do the same .

lol. its a really good store but the policy sux. the lady i dealt with was really dumb. i think a druggie. she said that u have to have the # of fish of gallons in the tank. i have 5 for my 5 gallon and she said that was 2 much.
i have a friend that goes there and there really nice 2 her. im definetly going 2 petsmart from now on. i got some real nice fish there. it was only a three dollar fish so i dont mind. she did know how to clean the tank out but was not a good ppl. person or fish handler. they also sold me a bum mollie. i want to return her but i dont want to deal with the lady again. the hippy/punk girl from the day when i got them was nice. i think she should take the store over because she seems like she knows more about the fish then the owner. lol. they also sell disk fish for $25 which are no bigger then my guppy, which was 2.66 at walmart and i must say is doing quite well, unlike little Jones from there who was bruttaly killed by Sampson my other guppy.
