 Well its been 3 months now since i upgraded to this tank, a few plants are suffering but most of the damage was done by a juvi severum which was in for 2 weeks. Abit overstocked for now but bigger tank will be due later in the year and im running 2 filter for now to help cope with it. so a quick pic to see what people think. All critisisums welcome!

I like the way it's grown in, lot's of green :)

Might I ask what that plant is to the far right of the tank, the relatively tall one? I rather like it :good:

Yes its an amazon sword there is just swords, java fern and whatever the tall plant on the left it in there!

Nice looking tank :) And really nice fish if not a bit miss matched.

Your Blue Rams ideally need high temperatures and low ph where as your firemouth prefers mid temps and hard/neutral water and then you have the paradise fish that are better off in cooler water still, which is a possibility for cherry barbs as well. The Apistos and Angels will like the low ph like the rams but not the high temps. The Rainbows you have are similar in needs to the Firemouth and the rummynose are perfect tank mates for the rams....

So you kind of have a few tank set ups in one there - though most of the fish are quite flexable and will do well in mid temperatures and a nutral ph but the blue rams wont, when kept in general community tanks it tends to cut their life span to about 18 months 2 years where as they can make 5 years.

The tank is currently at 27 ph 7.2 and all is going well. Everything seems happy, eating and growing fine! The barbs and paradise will be moving to a kindv bio type I'm setting up for them atm.

Ah cool sounds good :) The thing with the rams is that they do seem fine and then drop dead one day around the 2 year mark :/ But there are plenty of people whos Rams thrive and breed in tap water, so its not like they are suffering. The temps and ph affect their respiritory system which is why its a sudden death you see a lot of posts like "one of my breeding rams died for no reason" etc so just something to consider...

so im best to move the rams to a lone setup with higher temp and sofeter water etc, paradise and cherrys in my bio setup. and the rest should be fine wheree they are?

Yes. That would be a great move.

Sterbai Corydoras and Cardinal Tetra's can also tollerate 28-29 degrees celcius i believe so these could feature as tank mates.
