Growing Java Fern

Na, it shouldnt gale. I added an "off growth" of my moss to a natural hole in my bogwood and its literally gone OFF! Crazy grwoth. So it should be fine

The java ferns I got have a pretty big mass of brown/white/green roots on the bottom. Will it hurt them if I shove the roots into a groove in the wood?

no they take hold pretty well and mine hav started to flourish brilliantly, i found using interpets plant food is a good way to keep your plants going with out any algea probs, i just ran out and the only other stuff my lfs had was king british plant feed and now i seem to have a suspicious amount of the green stuff growing on my tank glass

How long does it take for the Java Fern to attach itself to the rock? I've been waiting 2 weeks!

1 month to 6 months, depends on lots of factors. if you have good light and co2 it will be quicker than low light and no co2. whatever system you have it'll happen eventually. patience my friend...
