One of my baby mollies has small gray spots/bumps all over her body and I cannot get rid of them. All the other fish are fine and the water parameters are good too, but I cannot work out what to do next. I've been treating for ich for 2 weeks now, tried salt, raised temp, done water changes, kept feeding down and 2 days no light - nothing! :(

PH 6 - always been at that level
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5

She is bright as a button and eating as well as ever. What are these things and what can I do?

Helllp!

Never heard of grey spots before how big are they, does the fish rub against objects.

they vary from tiny to one on her head about 2 mm in diameter. I started to wonder if they were a fungus infection, but the Protozin I was using covers that too. She does rub on the sand every now and again but not frequently.

oh - she's a black molly - if that makes a difference as far as the colour of the spots seem to be

I would try a salt bath, add some salt to the tank, does the one on the head have a red circling on it on the outside.

hmm - I have'nt noticed that but I'll have another look in the morning and double check.

I added salt to the tank just the once as I have a clown plec, but he seemed ok with it. Would it be ok to do it again- don't want to hurt him by od'ing on the salt. :-(

They will tolerate abit of salt, but don't add anymore, give the poorly fish a salt bath 1 tablespoon to 1 gallon increase the salt if the bath dosn't do anything.

MTS strikes again  I have bought and set up a hospital tank, using some old filter media and water, which I've salted. After some research I think the bumps/spots might be saprolegnia, so I'm going to dose the tank with Interpet antifungus and keep my fingers crossed. My other fish still seem fine.

Thanks for the advice, Wilder. Hope this works
