Heya,
I'm Krider I come from London way, UK.
I have a 60L tank, but for christmas my fiance is buying me a 200L tank so big upgrade whoopeeeeeee.
I started as an interested person in fish keeping, but it's became my hobby now. I love to find different fish to make the most of my tank, when I have a bigger tank I want to buy more expensive fish.
I'm a little peeved at the moment as my external filter has started leaking, but seeing as it's ten years old I'm suprised it's lasted this long, and problem is where ever I look I can't find replacements, so I'm going to buy two internal filters... I'm just worried about having to recycle my tank.

My fiance knows how much I love my little fish, she it's gonna be a kind of joint gift from the both of us, as it IS expensive. But comes with inbuilt filter, 6 lights, heater, and a ton of other stuff... oh and a cabinet

Will it fit as I've just brought a stingray 5 and have a fluval (really really old, ten years +) and I don't even know what media there is in there... I'll admit it's never been changed, but it's still working brilliantly except for the leak...I'll deffo try putting the media in, even if I have to cut it to size

You should be able to stuff the new filter with the old filter media. Why don't you check out All Pond Solutions for a tank mate. For the £350 you could get a 330 Litre, with lighting, Cabinet, Filter built in, Heater etc For £700 you could get a 500Litre!!!!! Man id love a 500l lol

They have them on ebay to ffrom the same people and price. There's a couple of threads on here about all pond solutions so check them out. Theres one topic about some one that bought one and reviewed it. Search it

If you already bought the tank, then the filter media should cut, bend, squeeze into the new filter, to run alongside the new filter, or you could just run both filters at the same time, after about 4-6 weeks the new filter should have enough bacteria to cope, just dont add any fish for 2 months from the start of the new filter running to help it cope with any amonia spikes

Wow! I just caught that! 10 years old and never been cleaned out??! I thought I was doing good with 6 months and no cleaning needed! You should be able to cram the media in the new filter.
