just saying hi to all! hope to learn more. only experience in fishkeeping was one black siamese fighter fish with long fins. keep in big round bowl. almost like family dog but more wet. lived for one year almost. feed right from hand and loves to play swimming through fingers. i miss bobo much. very trusting as long as you don't pick him up out of water. then i moved to states. one of my friend felt bad for me so he send me 4 of his fish. im grateful but fish have short fins and like ripped too. i like long fins. he said trust him these fish are just as good even though different. i ask what kind he said vietnamese fighters. dont want to hurt his feelings but fish are not pretty like long fins. brown body with red fins. i say ok i will take care of them if same like long fin. anybody know about short fin vietnamese fighter? look different from long fin siamese fighter so maybe different fish.

maybe they're female fighting fish?

and you might wanna try goldfish if you like long finned fish. the fantail and fancy goldfish are really cool, just a bit dirty.

to big for female. they extend gills and fins when they see each other like black one i had but fins short. these were gift from good friend. no choice in matter now must take care of them if i rid of them mean insult my friend. thank you for welcome.

I don't know anything about fighing fish except that the males fight each other. My dad might be able to help you out I will ask him to have a look.
