Hi, i have just get a tank last thursday, all set up with some fish in now, come home from wrok today to find the water slightly green, i havent got that many plants in there at the mo, and i have an ugf.
With the tube that comes up for the filter, how long are you supppose to have it, because mine is basicly right at the top of the water, should i cut it shorter so the bubble can flow up through the water ?

anyone ?

Cutting it shorter will help increase your aeration some. But I doubt it will do much for your green water :/ That can be blamed on you tap.

But,also, I have to ask if your tank was pre-cycled before adding the fish?
Have you tested your ammonia,nitrite,nitrate?
Have you read about a tanks cycle?
