Hi, I know what is causing the green water. I assume I am correct saying it is because of the new lights. We tried using a two bulb shop light, with aquarium/growlight bulbs. In our 55 gallon tank we had the two seperate type of lights (one for each side) and both had a single bulb. We decided to try this grey shop light, but it had two lights to it. I assume the two lights caused this algae, or green water. Oh we have a new 90 gallon filter, but it is rated for 150. I moves 500 and over gallons of water an hour. Am I right in saying this caused the green water.

To get rid of the waters color, I assume, we shut the lights off? I also heard to wrap the tank so it doesn't get any light at all. Is this correct? Or should I do a 50% water change? If I wrap the tank, how long do I need to keep the tank wrapped

90 gallon
ph 7.0
nitrite 0
hardness 100 (color does not match 120 & doesn't match 50)
Alk 0
nitrate about 30 on color chart
Ammonia 0

Thank you for any information and let me know if I am correct.

I think you've figured it all out. Water changes will help, but do smaller ones more often. Cover the tank for about 3 days and do water changes on each day. You should see things clear up.

Hi, thanks, I did have it figured out. Just wanted to run it by someone who knows. I do appreciate your input. I have already covered the tank. Shut lights off. I will do the water changes, every day for 3 days. Small water changes. Again, Thanks Lynda
