Green terror losing color

I just started noticing this over the last week. He's acting normal, any ideas?

Here's today. I apologize for the glare, you can see my whole house in the reflection! Anyway, he looks a lot different.

How long have you had him? If you have just got him, then the difference could be him settling into his new tank. If not, then there could be environmental factors. have you checked water parameters?

thats a texas cichlid not a green terror. color paterns are usually the same depending on their stress and comfortable level they brighten or darken depending on the fish. gl
