looks like a severum but not a green one. Perhaps a new orange colour form. Nice fish :)

Where did you get it from? Did you buy it as a green severum?

It could be a cross between a Rokitel and a green. Possibly just an "odd" fry.

What has it been fed? Foods containing carotene could possibly make the orange more vivid, maybe not to that degree, but could bring it out more non the less.

No...he doesn't look very green but something tells me that this is a green sev. Gold sevs don't show that much color variation in the scales. Also around the eyes and the tips of his fins look green to me. i can't remember 100% but i don't think i've ever seen a gold sev with black bands. i think you have a very unique green severum. :) i'm deffinitely not an expert so i'm probably wrong. Either way that is a gorgeous fish.

Tobigara can you not seen the same red head in the OP's fish?

Also the light in which the picture was taken can affect the colours.

Looks pretty close to my male Redhead. Mine has a blue face with squiggles. Maybe yours is a female ?

Thank's All,
Yeah i brought it as a green severum, i did have 2 but one passed away :(
I will try to get some more pictures in a bit n post em see if it help to nail it ;)
Was actually going to take it to the Lfs but am not so sure now lol..
Any ideas of good tankmates?
Cheers

Depends on the size of the tank.

Thats a descent size, in that size tank you could even keep an oscar with them.Other cichlid tank mates can include sajica's firemouth's, blue acara's, and festivums etc.

Hmmm....I don't see the distinct red on the forehead , yet it is still young.

I have an Opaline Gourami with mine and 3 Tinfoil Barbs. The Tinfoil Barbs will need to be rehomed when they get too big. After that I plan on adding a Festivum or Blue Acara. Also a shoal of larger Tetras (Congo) or Rainbow Fish :good:
