Hi folks Just wondering if first of all these worth getting my tank has some algae maybe be at back Glass and ornaments, ?

A person is selling one second hand its about 10 months old was on a timer during that time for a Couple Hours A Day, the 9w UV Steriliser Lamp, was Changed 2 Months ago , if i was getting one would i be better off getting a New one or would this Suffice

I can't give advice on UV Sterilisers but I would say that Nerite Snails or another type of algae-eating snail might be a fun idea. Nerites are hard workers and adore algae, and larvae are unable to survive in freshwater so you needn't worry about an invasion, as you might get with bladder snails or another species that rapidly reproduce.

Your money your choice. Hint: neither will work on green algae, they only work on unicellular floating algae. And if you have that you really should fix the cause.

Yes just seen how good they make the tank crystal clear, and help preventing dieases was just thinking they might be good investment,

Don't waste your money on U/V sterilisers for aquariums. They only kill things that pass through the U/V light and do nothing to algae on glass, ornaments or plants.

If you have an algae problem, either reduce the lighting time, reduce the nutrients, or add more live plants.

It is normal to get some algae on the glass and ornaments.
