have a colony of green furry mushrooms and one has appeared to detach itself from th bit LR that it was on, where it has settled is not the best location as its somewhat shaded, it seems ok but obviously wont survive without much light, have tried to place it else where but the current in the tank just moves it so was considering using cyno or epoxy to hold it in pklace but im not sure thats a good idea with this type of coral, any feedback would be good :good:

I would have left it where it had settled (with all things considered) as mushrooms in general do not require intense lighting and again they only really detach if they dont like the spot they're in. To much water current will make them detach. The fact that yours detatched and found a little spot which will be out of the heavy flow from powerheads etc. denotes that the spot it landed would probably be better suited to its requirements than where it was originally sited.

I would leave it on your sand in a low flow area and let it attach(in a few days usually)then superglue the sand it has attached to, to another rock. Easy as that :good:
Or chop it in half then do the above and make two!

I have a good colony of them and one will occasionally 'jump ship' when they get a bit too crowded.

think that is whats happened here as the LR it was on is very crowded so will leave it for a few weeks then see if i can move it.

cheers guys

Remember, because mushrooms are technically anemones, not corals, they CAN walk if they aren't getting enough light
