happy new year everyone............just looked into me tank today to see about 4 small shiny green balls what are these is it algae are they ok to leave in the tank.
I suspect they are bubble algae - lift the rock out and stick something underneath them to remove them - don't do this over the tank, because if they pop they will release thousands of spores
If you could take some pics just to be sure that would be ideal, if it is bubble algae, then I would act fast, it can be very difficult to get rid of if it takes hold.
I don't think there's need for such a huge alarm
Rather than taking it out and risk it popping, think about some emerald crabs. They eat that stuff like it's chocolate and they don't spread it.
if you are going to manually remove this found that the best way to remove it, was to remove the rock from the tank slice through the steams of the bubble {leaving the bubble intact} then take your scalpel and hack away at the rock to remove rhe roots finally give the rock a scrub with a tooth brush {or similar} then rinse in RO and place the rock back in the tank,
Or like NEMO has said emerald crabs!!!! Eat this stuff like it’s going out of fashion
