I have fake plants and i seem to have some slimey green algae! how do i treat it?

hi chrisski
i'll chip in with my bit of advice and say ditch the fake and go real. real plants compete with algae for available nutrients, not saying the real will win hands down but they will help. when i add more fish i always put in more plants

I would do more frequent wc's. Slimey blue/green algae usually means high phosphates and nitrates.

thanks for your replies!
i'll try both although I had real plants and never had much success with them as they kept dying!

You need to get easier to grow plants then. Go for Java ferns tied to rocks / wood with cotton, Thai Onion Plants, Straight Vallis, Limnophila sessiliflora, Anubias Species, hornwort.

:good:

ps Greenline aquatic are good for mail order plants
