How long have you had them together? Are the gouramies new arrivals? When I got a couple of honey gouramis for a tank with 12 harlequins, the gouramis had a bit of trouble at first (harlequins are incredibly greedy as well) but now they compete with the harlequins without trouble. If you've only kept them together for a short while, maybe the gouramis need time to get used to their lively companions.

Have you tried putting food in both ends of the tank at the same time?

Depending on the species of gourami, it could also just be that giant danios are too much for them and they don't dare come up for their food. Danios in general aren't the best company for the more calm/shy gouramis, because they are lively, fast and wild at feeding time.

we have the same thing - 6 zebras and a couple of red robins.
when the gouramis were introduced they sat at the bottom and we were worried they werent getting any food.
so (as suggested) we crushed up the flakes for the danios on the surface at one end of the tank and then put bigger (almost whole) flakes in at the other. We would push these down, so they would sink, rather than float on the surface where the danios get them.

the gourami's got food then, and (as also mentioned) now they do compete with the danio's for it and all appears to be well.

as another idea, our gouramis love algea wafers (they are for the khulli loach), whereas the danios wont go down for it - if you think they are still not getting any food try dropping one of them in.
