I don't know if this is the right place for this post. I have been lurking in the forum for more than a month and don't know the proper procedure for posting.
But here goes.

These are great tongs for inserting plants, wood, decorations, and picking up items and removing. I got them out of my kitchen drawer.
There are stainless steel with rubberlike tips and handle grips (black parts). The black tips are soft and flexible making them very useful.
They are spring loaded. Can be locked in closed position for easier storage. Total length is 16 inches. They are made for cooking with non-stick pans. I have actually never used them in my cooking. Now I have a better use for them.

Why not just use an AquaScaping tool set? The one I bought has 2 tweezers (professional), 1 pair of scissors (for trimming plants), and 1 substrate “mover”.

I’ll upload a picture of my set tomorrow. :)

For adding rocks or ornaments or rearranging these I use one of these.. no need to get your hands wet. You can also retrieve dropped items in hard to reach areas like behind your washer or dryer. Also this is great for reaching things like cans on a high shelf. I also have an 18 inch long tweezer.

@JuiceBox52, you can’t plant plants effectively with your hands. That’s why the top 2 tools in my kit above are really helpful.

Trying to make a joke  I use my hands for general maintenance but I do have a pair of tongs for other things :)
Ohh....I see. I do as well use my hands for simple stuff, but stick to the tools for more precise work. :)

Who needs a velvet bag? I hang mine on a wall on a nail next to my tank.

do they work any better because they come in a velvet case? ;)
