Great new pet shop

I went to a pet shop in a neighboring town today and they were GREAT. They had just about every product imaginable for both fresh and saltwater fish, a nice (and cheap!) tank selection, and all their fish were healthy and obviously well cared for. They had bettas in the typical small cups, but they had sparkling clean water and, what's more, they had CT and DTs!! I told myself I wasn't going to buy any more bettas that I didn't intend to breed, but I caved. He was just so cute, and with Lil going back to Kara Monday and my having an empty tank to fill, well... you get the picture. I've never had a long-finned DT before
He's in my 10 gallon until Monday when Lil's Aquaview is vacated. Yes, there's a dwarf gourami in there, but I've been checking on them every 30 minutes and so far so good... I do have a 1 gallon bowl ready just incase, don't worry.

I have the same wooden goldfishie as you do too! It originally was my granny's and I can remember playing with it as a child. I got it when she died and I was sooooo happy to have it.

Pretty much... the gourami is in the tank with three WCMMs, a khuli loach (I'm on the lookout for more, since her companion died recently), and a handful of ghost shrimp.

erm, is your gouramii friendly? im pretty sure iv heard gouramiis cant be kept with gouramiis

very nice betta, im not too keen on the size of teh cup, but as long as its pretty clean it shouldn't matter. wish there were more stores like that.

Ooh what a cutie!! I love his colors, he's really metallic .... and the DT is NICE! Thats actually one of the largest pet shop Betta cups I've ever seen. Do you have for the handsome boy name yet? LMAO at chubby Mr. Gourami.. you be nice now, little guy!!

Nope, bettas can't usually be kept with gouramis, which is why I moved the betta to his own 1 gallon today. I just had him in the 10 gallon until Lil went home to Kara (shipped him out today) so he could have Lil's old tank. Mr. Gourami didn't bother him any during his short stay, but I wasn't going to risk leaving him in there.
