hi, i`m new to all this and also a little confused,i have a silver molly that i am 99% sure is pregnant but all the advice i`ve been given says she will have a gravid spot, she has no gravid spot so the question i`m asking is "do all live bearers have a visible gravid spot ? my guppy had fry on new years day and she did have a gravid spot so i am aware of where it is. This may be a silly question but i really need to know. Thanks Shay

The so-called gravid spot is not a good indicator of pregnancy in livebearers.

You can assume she is pregnant (most female livebearers are pregnant all the time, and they can store sperm and get themselves pregnant even if there's no males present!) and when she 'squares off' (develops distinct corners at the front of her belly), she'll give birth within the next 24/48 hours.

Hope that helps; :hi: to the forum, btw.
